Leo's Angel Oak Tree

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm not sure how many of you out in the blogosphere are like me, but Mondays are the start of my writing week.  I take Sundays off to be with my family and catch up on all of the tedious things that creep up during the week like grocery shopping.  So, when my Mondays don't start off right (that means motivating and engaging), my week is shot to hell!

With that being said, I'm starting a new feature here at The Guardian Writer.  I'm calling it "Monday Motivations". Every Monday, I will post a prompt, picture, or opening to get your creative juices (and mine) flowing.  You can use it to help you imagine possibilities in your writing.

If you do write something and want to share, I would love that! Just simply email me at melissaddean@yahoo.com with the sampling (no more than 100 words) and your name, and I will post it for you here on Fridays.  It might be a great way to get feedback on your writing.  Don't worry, I'll be posting my own on Fridays as well.  If you don't want to share, that's okay, too.  I would love to know what you think of the ones offered.  So comment away!

This week's Monday Motivation is a picture:  What can you write using this setting?

Happy Writing!

  1. Hi there! I'm also a campaigner and in the YA and paranormal romance groups with you. And I'm also a teacher!

It's kinda funny that you're working on the Guardian Series, 'cos I'm publishing a series soon and the first story is titled Guardian!

  2. So happy to see you back! I've been out of the blogging world for a bit myself, but am going to try the campaign thing again! Hope all is well!

  3. LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture! It has so many magical possibilities!! :) have a great week!

  4. It's a beautiful picture for sure and a wonderful idea. Mondays are tough and we could use all the motivation we can get.

Popping over from the YA group at Rach's. Nice to meet you :)

  5. Hello! I'm following you from the campaign! :)

With that picture, I immediately thought it looked fantasy-like. Maybe a story of a girl who's stuck in a dream world?

  6. Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. We are in the same group for the platform-building campaign. I'm also a new follower :)
P.S. I LOVE that picture of the tree in your blog header. Gorgeous!

  7. Hey there! Stopping by from the Campaign! I was going to follow you, but I realized that I already do!
Love the picture, by the way! Very inspirational!
